Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Mimiq ("the Service"), operated by Mimiq ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Mimiq is a knowledge management platform that helps you organise, maintain, and share structured knowledge through conversational AI. The Service includes:

• Topic creation and knowledge management
• AI-assisted knowledge extraction, updates, and queries
• Document linking and synchronisation (e.g. Confluence)
• Version history and knowledge tracking

2. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address and password to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• One person or entity per account. Accounts are not transferable.

3. Your content

• Ownership — you retain full ownership of all content you provide to Mimiq. We do not claim any rights to your knowledge, messages, or documents.
• Licence — by using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
• Responsibility — you are responsible for the content you provide. Do not use Mimiq to store content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.

4. AI processing

• The Service uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to process your content. AI-generated output may contain errors or inaccuracies.
• You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it.
• Your content is not used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage (scraping, bots)
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent

6. Service availability

• We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
• We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We will provide notice when possible.
• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

7. Pricing and payment

Mimiq is currently free to use during the early access period. We will provide advance notice before introducing paid plans. No charges will be applied without your explicit consent.

8. Data and deletion

• You can delete individual topics at any time. This permanently removes all associated data.
• You can request full account deletion by contacting hello@iammimiq.io.
• We may delete inactive accounts after 12 months of inactivity, with 30 days' notice via email.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Mimiq is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).
• We are not liable for the accuracy of AI-generated content.

10. Termination

• You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where possible.
• On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
